About Brasilsat B2 Satellite

Brasilsat B2 satellite was launched on March 28, 1995 to cope with the expansion of wireline and mobile telephone operators all over Brazil.

B2 satellite replaced Embratel Star One's first-generation satellite Brasilsat A1 in the 65.,0º W orbital position. It has performed an outstanding task at geostationary position for over 13 years, providing a vast array of applications. During that period, B2’s was consolidated as an exceptional coverage position at national level and all over South America as well.

Brasilsat B2 is now in inclined orbit at 68º W, fulfilling the growing telephone demand of a number of carriers, especially in the interior of Brazil.
